Web Development London
Web development London companies can rely on when the roadmap is longer than the team: G2 Collective builds React, Angular and Next.js front ends, headless CMS platforms and Supabase back ends for London businesses. We are a remote, senior engineering team based in the EU, working inside your working day – as a delivery partner for a whole product or as extra capacity alongside your own developers.

What London companies ask us to build
London combines one of the world's largest financial centres with a dense start-up and scale-up scene, from fintech around the City and Canary Wharf to product companies in Shoreditch and King's Cross. The common problem is rarely a lack of ideas – it is delivery capacity. Roadmaps grow faster than hiring, and the marketing site waits in a queue behind the core product.
So the work tends to fall into three groups: marketing and product websites that the marketing team can edit without engineers; customer-facing web applications such as onboarding flows, account dashboards and client portals; and internal tools that replace spreadsheets. Some clients hand us a whole project; others want a small senior squad working in their repository. The full range is described under our services.
React, Angular, Next.js or TanStack: choosing the right front end
React is our default for product interfaces: the ecosystem is mature, and London is full of React developers, which helps when you later hire in-house. Next.js comes in when pages have to rank and load quickly – server rendering, static generation and sensible caching for marketing sites, documentation and content-heavy products. Angular is the better answer for large, form-heavy enterprise applications where an opinionated structure keeps several teams consistent, or when your platform already runs on it.
Inside React projects we lean on TanStack: Query for caching and synchronising server state, Router for type-safe routing, Table for data grids with sorting, filtering and virtualised rows, and Start when a full-stack React setup suits the product. With these we build custom web applications, reporting dashboards and client portals. Performance budgets, Core Web Vitals and accessibility to WCAG AA are checked during development rather than audited at the end. If the interface still needs designing, our web design London team works in the same sprint.
Headless CMS, WordPress and the data layer
For multi-channel, multi-language or component-driven sites we recommend a headless CMS. Strapi suits teams that want open-source software, self-hosting and full control of the data model. Sanity is excellent for structured content and real-time collaborative editing. Contentful and Kontent.ai fit larger organisations that need roles, workflows and governance out of the box. And sometimes the honest answer is WordPress: for a brochure site or blog run by a small marketing team it is quicker to launch and easy to find editors for – provided the theme is custom-built and the plugin list stays short.
Behind the interface we build back ends on Supabase – managed Postgres with authentication, file storage, row-level security and realtime subscriptions – or on Node.js services when the logic needs its own API layer. We also connect the product to the systems the business already runs on: CRM, payment providers and, for property clients, availability and unit-management systems. See our websites for property developers.
How we build: senior engineers, reviewed code, AI used responsibly
Every project is staffed by senior engineers who write TypeScript end to end. Work happens in short iterations with pull requests, mandatory code review, automated unit and end-to-end tests, and a CI/CD pipeline that deploys each branch to a preview or staging environment. Architecture decisions and runbooks are documented as we go, so handover to an in-house team is planned, not improvised.
We also use AI-assisted, agentic coding workflows, and we would rather explain that plainly than hide it. AI coding agents are good at the repetitive parts of delivery: scaffolding components, writing test cases, migrating code between patterns, drafting documentation. Our engineers direct those agents, read every line they produce and remain accountable for it. Nothing reaches your main branch without human review, passing tests and a green pipeline. You get speed on routine work – never unreviewed AI code in production.
Should you hire London web developers or a remote team?
It depends on what you need to own. If the work is the permanent core of your product, hiring in London makes sense. If you need a platform delivered, a backlog cleared or a specialist skill for a defined period, a remote senior team is usually the more efficient route. G2 Collective is based in Poland, in the EU, and has no UK office. We are one hour ahead of UK time, so our working day overlaps almost entirely with yours, and the whole team works in English.
Cost follows scope: the number of templates and user roles, the integrations involved, the amount of legacy code, compliance requirements and how much design is needed. You can work with us on a fixed-scope quote after a discovery phase, or on a monthly retainer with dedicated capacity. Both are quoted in GBP or EUR. Because of our European base, the same seniority is typically more cost-efficient than at a comparable UK agency. Contracts assign all intellectual property to you.
Support after launch – and who we are a good fit for
Launch is the start of a product's useful life, not the end of the project. Our maintenance and support plans cover an agreed SLA with response times, security and dependency updates, uptime and error monitoring, backups and regular performance reviews. Most clients combine that with a block of iterative development, so improvements keep shipping each month.
We are a good fit for London scale-ups that need senior capacity without a long recruitment cycle, for product teams that want a reliable partner for the marketing site or a client portal, and for established firms modernising an ageing Angular or WordPress platform. Have a look at our projects, then book a technical call with one of our engineers.
