What Bristol businesses need from a website
Bristol punches above its size. Aerospace and advanced engineering are anchored around Filton, the creative sector is known worldwide for animation and natural history film-making, and a lively tech and start-up community has grown up around Temple Quarter. Add a strong independent retail and food culture from Stokes Croft to Clifton and the Harbourside, and a population that takes sustainability seriously, and you have a demanding audience.
Bristol customers tend to be design-literate and sceptical of anything that feels corporate or copied. A website here has to have a genuine voice, show real work and real people, and back up any environmental or ethical claims with substance. For engineering and B2B firms the priority is different but just as exacting: technical credibility, clear capabilities and easy routes for buyers and recruits to get in touch.
How much does web design cost in Bristol?
As a guide, web design projects start from £1,200 (about €1,400) excluding VAT. A starting price only tells part of the story, so here is the rest. What a website costs depends on what goes into it: the number of distinct templates, the CMS, integrations with other software, e-commerce, the amount of content we create or migrate, and the level of animation, illustration or interactive detail. Websites with an identical page count can be very different undertakings.
After a first conversation we put together a fixed quote in GBP or EUR, with the scope written down and the work split into stages. You agree it before anything starts, and it stays put unless the brief changes. Because we are based in continental Europe, our overheads are lower than those of UK studios, which typically makes us more cost-efficient than comparable agencies – a useful thing for independents and scale-ups watching every line of the budget.
What we design and build
Every site is bespoke, designed around your content and audience rather than poured into a theme. That includes UX and UI design, responsive layouts, accessibility considered from the first component, and lightweight front-end code that scores well on Core Web Vitals. Lean pages also use less energy to serve and load, which matters to many Bristol organisations. The site structure is SEO-ready: logical hierarchy, clean URLs, proper headings and structured data.
You edit content in WordPress or in a headless CMS such as Strapi, Sanity or Contentful, often with a Next.js front end for speed. We build e-commerce stores for independent brands, landing pages for launches and campaigns, and websites for property developers with availability tables, unit details and lead forms – useful for the residential schemes reshaping Bristol's centre and waterfront.
Our process from discovery to care plan
Discovery opens every project: a workshop to understand your goals, users and competitors. We then draw up the sitemap and wireframes, agreeing what each page has to do before deciding how it looks. UI design comes next, shared in Figma for comment. Once approved, development begins – templates, CMS, integrations – followed by content and SEO set-up, where copy, metadata, redirects and tracking are put in place.
Testing covers browsers, phones, tablets, forms and accessibility. Then we launch, monitor closely for the first days and move the site onto a care plan. Typical timelines: about 12 working days for a company website, less for a landing page, longer for larger platforms and shops. We will give you a dated plan at the start. For the technical approach, visit our web development Bristol page.
Do you need a local Bristol web design agency?
Bristol has a proud buy-local culture, so we will be upfront. G2 Collective is based in Poland, in the EU. We have no UK office and will not be popping into your studio. We are one hour ahead of UK time, which gives us an almost fully shared working day. Collaboration happens through video workshops, shared Figma boards and staging links you can open whenever you like.
A local agency gives you proximity and local knowledge, and if supporting Bristol suppliers is part of your values, that is a good reason to choose one. What proximity does not determine is craft. With us, the senior designers and developers who do the work are the ones on your calls, feedback loops are short and everything is documented. In practice the process can feel closer than working with an agency across town.
After launch – and who we are a good fit for
We do not disappear at launch. Care plans cover hosting and maintenance, security updates, backups and performance checks. We provide SEO to build organic visibility, configure analytics so you can see what is working, and make ongoing improvements – new pages, better journeys, fresh content. Web is one part of our services, so branding, 3D visualisation and campaigns can be added when you need them.
We work best with Bristol businesses that want something individual and well made: creative and tech companies, engineering firms, ethical and independent brands, and developers marketing new homes. If you are weighing up a new website, book a call. We will talk through what you need, tell you honestly whether we are the right fit, and follow up with a fixed quote and a realistic schedule.
